How to remove old drivers

When you attach to your PC to external devices (such as cell phones, cameras, USB sticks) many times you install drivers that will use only when you use that device. If you have used one or more devices only once, by installing the drivers to it including this article may interest you.

Today I will explain  how to remove unnecessary drivers. 

Open the ” Command Prompt “in administrator mode. From Start – All Programs – Accessories – Command Prompt – click with the right mouse button and select Run as … – The administrator .

Alternatively, Start – Run – Type cmd – press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run as administrator.

Now write (or make copy-paste from here) the following command in the window and press Enter. September DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1This forces the older drivers to be seen in Device Manager.

To enter now directly in the device manager. you can write the same window Dos command devmgmt.msc . From here, go to the menu View and select ” Show Hidden Devices “.

The list now includes now all active devices and which are no longer used that appear gray.

From the list, click the right button on the inactive driver you want to remove and press the Remove button to remove the driver and delete it forever. Apart from this, you can use some automatic programs that make the task easier.
