The drive letter is assigned by the operating system to every device connected to the computer mass storage: hard drives (including individual volumes and partitions), player DVD and CD, USB stick.Windows assigns a drive letter to each different device to identify it uniquely. We close all files, folders, and applications that are running to avoid any program that refers to the drive letter that we are removing is running.
